Stopped Bus.

stopped bus

Located on the corner of 21st Street and Spadina Crescent Saskatoon Bus Stop Refreshments is a food kiosk run out of a decommissioned double decker bus.  Generally open between the start of April and the end of October it serves such casual fair as ice cream and hot dogs.  It should be noted that this style of bus never served with Saskatoon Transit.

As a followup to my previous post featuring art on the Drinkle No. 3 building here is the opposite side of the structure.  It features an ad for the Saskatoon Star Phoenix that is hard to miss.

A similar ad is found on an apartment building on 2nd Avenue, seen here from the 23rd Street bus mall.

A Very Long Walk.

Sorry for the missed posts last week.  No problems here, just didn't get them out.

This mural is located on the Drinkle Number 3 building, aka Regent Plaza, facing 22nd Street.  It commemorates various early founders of Saskatoon, including J.C. Drinkle, who financed the construction of the building and after whom it is named.

Chicken Feed?

seed box 1

Walking down 8th Street this morning I spotted this box sitting on a bus stop bench/garbage can/billboard across the street from Grosvenor Park Centre shopping mall.  At first I was going to ignore it but curiosity got the better of me.

And what should I find inside...

...but a bunch of what appeared to be bird seed.  I would assume someone left it there deliberately to feed the local bird population, but if that's the case I'm not convinced leaving it in a cardboard box at a bus stop will work too well.
